Melvin Taylor Obituary

Melvin A. Taylor,67, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2019.

He was born on April 28, 1952 to the late Leman and Lucille Brewer Taylor. Melvin will be sadly missed by his wife, Rebecca; daughter, Erica (Thomas) Pritchard; grandchildren, Austin and Sydney Pritchard, and a host of cousins and friends.

He was a member of Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church in which he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Pianist for several years. He loved his Lord and his church.

He worked for many years for the Tennessee Department of Human Services in several different capacities and in several different counties. He retired as the West Tennessee Regional Director.

He served in past years as Mayor and Alderman for the Town of Decaturville. Presently he was honored to serve as the Chairman of the Higher Education Foundation for the University of Tennessee at Martin Parsons Center.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday at Parsons Mortuary from 12:00PM until 8:00PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 10:00AM until time of services at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 11:00AM at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cedar Hill Cemetery c/o Debbie Cagle 2066 Evanstown Rd. Parsons, TN 38363.
