Mrs. Carolyn Sewell age 91 of Parsons, TN passed away on Friday November 28, 2025, at Green Crest Assisted Living in Parsons, TN.
Funeral services for Carolyn Belle Sewell will be at Parsons Mortuary Chapel on December 1, 2025, at 2:00 with Rev. Gary Morse officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M until time for funeral. Burial following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Decaturville, Tn.
Carolyn Was born June 21, 1934, to the late William Carrel Sewell and Edna Earle Butler Sewell.
Carolyn was an honor graduate of Parsons High School, Class of 1951. She received an advance secretarial diploma from Droughon’s Business College. While in Nashville, she was employed by State of Tennessee Motor Vehicle Division, Methodist Board of Evangelism, and Methodist Board of Education. Upon returning to Parsons, she was employed by Farmers Bank and Townsend Insurance Agency. She continued at Farmers Bank for 50 ½ years in various positions. She was active in her community and her church.
Some roles she remembered fondly were; Charter Member of Friends of the Library, Charter Member of Decatur County Business Women Club, Chairperson Decatur County Heart Fund, March of Dimes Campaign, and Decatur County Cancer Crusades. She served in various positions in her church, choir member, administrative council member, and was active in the United Methodist Women. Carolyn appeared in the 1971 edition of Personalities of the South.
She enjoyed reading, cooking and was interested in music, and astrology. She was a bowling enthusiast for several years and won several trophies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Maxine, Aileen, and Freda. She leaves behind beloved cousins and friends.
