Mr. Donald “Duck” Dickson age 86 of Parsons, TN passed away on Wednesday October 22, 2025, at his home in Parsons, TN.
Mr. Dickson was a member of first Baptist Church in Parsons where he served as a deacon for many years.
He was an alumni of the Ole Miss Rebel football team from 1958 to 1962. He played as right guard on two national championship teams, 1960 and 1962. In his senior year he was honored to be selected by the Associated Press as a First Team All SEC. He was inducted into the Ole Miss M Club Hall of Fame in 2006.
He is survived by of sons Greg (Jody) Dickson of Parsons, TN and Donnie Dickson of Parsons, TN; daughter, Denise Dickson Mathis of Rives, TN; brother, Robert (Patsy) Dickson of Hohenwald, TN; grandchildren, Ricky (Brittany) Mathis, Brittney (Phil) Perry, Hunter Donald Dickson, Oren (Jacob) Pirtle, Aubree Dickson, Sierra Dickson, and Jimmy (Rachel) Nolan; great grandchildren, Reagan Mathis, Logan Pirtle, Waylon Pirtle, Sadie Grace Nolan, Stella Nolan, and Kam Nolan; nephew, Wayne Smith.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Dickson; parents, Flora & Wiley Dickson; brothers, W. R. Dickson, Jerry Dickson, and Ronald Dickson; sister, Dorothy Duke Plunk.
Mr. Dickson's visitation will be held on Friday October 24, 2025, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Parsons First Baptist Church. Visitation will continue Saturday October 25, 2025, from 10:00AM until time of funeral service at Parsons First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025, at 1:00PM at the Parsons First Baptist Church with Masonic Services and burial to follow in the Darden Cemetery.
