Freddie was born in Parrish, AL on February 4, 1929, and married the father of her four girls, Dock Ray Goggans. They moved to Birmingham, AL, where she raised her four girls in the Birmingham suburb of East Thomas. Building a foundation in Christ our Lord, they were active members of the East Thomas Baptist Church. When her life ended she had continued her faith at the Amazing Grace Ministries in Parsons, TN.
Freddie was known for her sweet smile and disposition, kindness and sense of humor and an unwavering strength. She was a delight to everyone who was graced with her presence. Some of favorite things to do was playing cards with friends and family, going fishing, working with jewelry and traveling every chance she got. And nothing brought her more joy than preparing meals for her family, many of her recipes will continue to be a holiday staple.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 1pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2pm at the Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home, 2214 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071. Burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery immediately after the service.
