Mr. Gaylon Gary Clifft, age 76 of Parsons, TN passed away on Monday November 24, 2025, at his home in Parsons, TN.
Commissioner Gaylon Clifft was elected to the Decatur County Commission in 1982 and faithfully served his district and the people of Decatur County with unwavering dedication, honor, and pride. Throughout his tenure, he served under three different Mayors/County Executives and contributed his experience and steady leadership to numerous committees and boards, including the Beer Board, Budget Committee, Law Enforcement Committee, and Highway Committee.
Gaylon played a key role in many county accomplishments over the years. He was never afraid to make the hard decisions and always approached his work with the best interest of all Decatur Countians at heart. His legacy of service, integrity, and commitment to his community will be remembered for generations.
Mr. Gaylon served his country in the Tennessee National Guard.
He was a charter member of the Decatur County Elk’s Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Clifft of Parsons, TN; sons, Gaylon “Snapper” Clifft II of Parsons, TN, Allen (Anna) Bledsoe of Fairview, TN, and Scott Bledsoe of Perry County, TN; daughter, Molly Clifft of Parsons, TN; brother, Larry (Mae) Clifft of Parsons, TN; grandchildren, Lauren (James) Taylor, Blake Bledsoe, Ethan Bledsoe, Gavin Scott, Gabriela Baker, and Kenzie Bledsoe; great grandchildren, Kinley Arnold, Kayden Arnold, and Kali Arnold.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Gussie & Ray Clifft; brother, John Clifft.
Visitation for Mr. Gaylon Gary Clifft will be on Tuesday November 25, 2025, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Decaturville Pentecostal Church. Visitation will continue Wednesday November 26, 2025, from 10:00AM until time of funeral service at the Decaturville Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2025, at 2:00PM at the Decaturville Pentecostal Church with burial to follow in the New Prospect Cemetery in Holladay, TN. Bro. Phillip Gulledge & Bro. Brent Mayo officiating.
