J. W. Perry

Mr. J. W. Perry age 75 of Parsons, TN, passed away on Friday September 1, 2023 at TN State Veterans' Home in Humboldt, TN.

J.W. went to work for TVA after high school. He was in the Army in Vietnam for 2 years, as a helicopter mechanic. After returning home, he went back to work for TVA, as a Journeyman Lineman, retiring in 2007 in Columbia, TN.

He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to garden, hunt, fish, boat, and travel. He loved to spend time with his grandsons and dogs. He enjoyed riding his side by side through the farm and would never turn down a pecan pie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Emma Jean Perry & Connie Perry.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Drewry Perry of Parsons, TN; daughter, Jenny (Jermey) Smith of Decaturville, TN; brother, Lynn Perry of Parsons, TN; sisters, Juanita Morgan of Scotts Hill, TN, Donna Pitts of Scotts Hill, TN, and Felicia (Ken) Boroughs of Parsons, TN; grandchildren, Jonah Smith & Jude Smith.

Visitation for Mr. Perry will be held at Parsons Mortuary on Monday Sept. 4, 2023 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitation will continue at Parsons Mortuary on Tuesday Sept. 5, 2023 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Sept. 5, 2023 at 1:30PM at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery of Parker Crossroads with burial to follow in the cemetery.
