Obituary

Mrs. Katie Rushing age 89 of Parsons, TN, passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2023 at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Walter) Hickson of Holladay, TN; brothers, Spellings Smith of Decaturville, TN and Lynn Smith of Decaturville, TN; sister, Judy Kay Wulfert of Scotts Hill, TN; grandchildren, Trey Leist, Cass Leist, and Rebecca Philo; 14 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Richard Smith; husband, James E. Rushing; bothers, Glenn Smith, Danny "Red" Smith, and Russell Smith; sister, Annie Mae McLemore.

Visitation for Mrs. Katie Rushing will be held on Friday Sept. 8, 2023 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Parsons Mortuary. Visitation will continue on Saturday Sept. 9, 2023 from 1:00PM until time of funeral service at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 9, 2023 at 2:00PM at the New Hope Baptist Church with burial to follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Decaturville, TN.
