Mr. LaVaughn Moody age 88 of Parsons, TN passed away on Monday July 8, 2024, at his home in Parsons, TN.
Brother LaVaughn Moody was a Baptist Minister and with the Lord’s help, preached the gospel for
45 years. He pastored churches in Middle and West Tennessee.
He put many hours into continuing the radio program “Truth on the Air”, ‘Helping to tell the Father’s World about His Son’; which began in 1945 and had been started by his father, W.A. Moody. This program can still be heard on WDXL Lexington, every Sunday morning at 8:30 am.
Brother Moody made 3 revival trips to the island of Jamaica from 1965 – 1991. He also enjoyed doing watch and clock repair, a task he had learned from his father.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Moody of Parsons, TN; son, David (Cindy) Moody of Auburntown, TN; daughter, Rhonda Drew of Parsons, TN; sisters, Dona (Dennis) McCain of Dallas, TX, Dorris Nell (Mike) Hanson of Kauai, HI, and Liz Shanholtzer of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Christina (Daniel) Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN, and Cody Drew of Parsons, TN; great grandchildren, Peyton Thomas, Preston Thomas, Paisley Thomas, and Nellie Thomas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Flossie & W. A. Moody; brother, Randy Moody; sister, Christine Moody.
A visitation for Mr. Moody will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2024 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Parsons, TN. Visitation will continue on Thursday July 11, 2024 from 12:00PM until time of funeral service at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Parsons, TN. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 11, 2024 at 1:00PM at the Crossroads Baptist Chruch in Parsons, TN with burial to follow in the Crossroads Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Burroughs officiating.
