Born on the brink of the Great Depression, Mary Catherine Tucker Coats entered this world on October 22, 1929 and departed this life on June 22, 2023 at the age of 93 years 7 months and 30 days.

She was preceded in the death by her parents Albert Luther Tucker and Flossie Elizabeth Clayton Tucker. Two brothers, Robert Dee Tucker and Luther Allen Tucker, and her husband of 40 years, James Terrell Coats.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Diffee of Rockwood, TN, Barbara Blackwell (Dennis) of Scotts Hill, TN, and Joey Terrell Coats of Scotts Hill, TN, her grandchildren, Chris Johnson, Marty Johnson, Lynn Blackwell, Deanna Baldwin, and Dylan Coats. 9 great grandchildren, Cheyenne Cagle, Evan Johnson, Chelsey Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Brett Blackwell, Kayle Blackwell, Logan Baldwin, Amie Delaney, and Hannah Baldwin, 2 great-great grandchildren, Hazel Cagle, and Andrew Delaney

Visitation for Mrs. Coates will be held Thursday June 22, 2023 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM at Parsons Mortuary. Visitation will continue on Friday June 23, 2023 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 23, 2023 at 1:00PM in the Parsons Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath Springs, TN.
