Sharon Ann McCollum Boaz Obituary

Sharon Ann McCollum Boaz, of Parsons, Tennessee, passed away on December 21, 2025, at Vanderbilt, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Sharon lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for those around her.

Sharon carried with her the values of faith, family, and service. She was known for her gentle spirit, her warm smile, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether offering a comforting word, preparing a favorite meal, or sharing a story that brought laughter to the room, Sharon had a gift for making life brighter for those she touched.

Sharon was deeply devoted to her family, who were the center of her world. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tim David Boaz; one son, Carey Boaz (Jennifer) of Christiana; and one daughter, Jenny Boaz Ward (Paul) of Decaturville. She is also survived by her sister, Brenda Garner of Huron, Tennessee.

She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Emily Boaz Eckert (Mike), Luke Ward (Susie), Jake Boaz, Seth Boaz, Jackson Ward, Weston Ward, and Anna Grace Boaz.

Sharon was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lucy and TJ, who brought her tremendous joy and added a beautiful new chapter to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Ledell McCollum of Lexington, Tennessee, along with other beloved family members who now welcome her into eternal rest.

Visitation will be held at Parsons Mortuary on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at Parsons First Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Parsons First Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Parsons City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Parsons First Methodist Church.

Sharon’s legacy of compassion, resilience, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and kindness during this time.
